Of The Silicon Valley
The
movie tells about the history of the two biggest companies in the world that
conquer the technology world in their own ways. Behind this two companies are
the two individuals together with their bestfriends who are the brains that
work hard for the success of this two large company. Steve Jobs together with
Steve Wozniak and Bill Gates together with Paul Allen. This characters was
played by Noah Wyle as (Steve Jobs), Joey Slotnick as (Steve Wozniak) and in
other corner Anthony Michael Hall as (Bill Gates), and Josh Hopkins as (Paul
Allen). The setting of the movie in early 70’s when Jobs and Woz are in the
middle of a rumble in Berkeley on 1971. I don’t understand why are those two
are their but the only thing I understand about that scene is that those
authority are capturing some students I think. The second scene tells about the
discussion of Steve and Woz with this so called Captain Crunch who says that
the person who beats the telephone system, I think he (Capt.Crunch) inspires
Steve and Woz to make the Blue Box that can make free calls around the world.
Woz as a narrator talking in the background of the movie said that Steve saw
things differently that he didn’t. Some people believe that in order to be
successful in something, you must acknowledge the power in this world. In the
movie I heard Steve said this quote
“It’s about power; it’s like those weird
countries, where the army men overthrow the president. The first thing that
they take over is the ways people communicate, you know, radio, TV, newspaper.
Information is power”
It’s
hard to find that quote above, I search all the possible sites because I forgot
what Steve said in the movie, but finally I found it. The third scene setting
was on 1974 from Harvard dormitory when Bill Gates is playing Poker in his room
together with his bestfriend Paul Allen and other 2 individuals, I can’t name
them . I saw in this scene also this John DiMaggio as (Steve Ballmer) reading
Playboy magazines. In this movie also I like the lighting effect very adaptable
and it suits to the atmosphere of the movie. Another scene was this Ballmer letting
bill smell his socks. Hahaha!. Now, about the audio used in the movie, the
sound effects don’t empress me, why? it’s just I don’t like it, hahaha, but I
was empress about the other scene in the movie, but I can’t name it all, just a
few of them. Let’s talk about screenplay, the plot is believable. The
Characters are very interesting like Noah Wyle as (Steve Jobs) the feature of
his face are some kind similar to the real Steve Jobs. Anthony Michael Hall as
(Bill Gates) something is bothering me about his character, he look like an
adult man like 30’s but of course in the movie those cast think that he is same
old as a young Bill. Joey Slotnick as (Steve Wozniak) the real Woz is a fat
man, why thus the director hired Slotnick to play the character of Woz, Do you
know why? I don’t know either.. hahaha maybe the director likes to change
something about the story. Josh Hopkins as (Paul Allen) I like his character
when he act as an excited person. This characters that I mentioned above are
vey memorable characters, why? Because they are the one who inspire other
people through playing the role of those individuals that make things to be
“Nothing
is impossible”
Another
factor that affects the screenplay is that the relationship of the characters
to the other characters is very realistic and very natural. It’s a good acting
of them. Let’s go to the dialogues of the characters, their scripts are very
interesting in such a way that intellectual persons and wise men having a
conversation, I really wish I could speak like them in the future. My
suggestions to improve the film is that maybe the director should be sensitive
in the accessories of the actors, because I noticed something in the film, it’s
just a little mistake but for those observant persons who really observe
properly the movie, they can say that something is wrong. These are the things
I noticed about the film:
- At
the start of the film Woz is starting to build an Apple 1 computer. Onscreen caption dates it at 1971. He is wearing
an LCD digital watch - this would be far too early.
- In
the scene where Bill Gates is posing for a photo for The Wall Street Journal,
the photographer asks him to take off his sweater revealing a white or light
vanilla colored shirt underneath. The camera cuts away to the photographer
adjusting his camera. When Bill is shown again in the next shot, his shirt is
now light blue.
- The
same extras can be seen in several different crowd scenes. Specifically, the
same people can be seen in the crowd that storms the computer fair and in the
auditorium when Steve Jobs makes his final speech.
As
you can see this are the error in the movie, maybe some people didn’t noticed
it, but some people can.
My
rating for this movie is 9 of 10, why I didn’t give this movie a perfect 10
because of some facts I mentioned above, but my overall opinion to this movie
is this movie inspire me to fulfill my dreams in life I should strive hard to
rich my goals. I would recommend this movie to the IT (Information Technology)
students out there that you should watch this movie so that you will know the
history of the Apple Inc. and Microsoft.
My
message to my co – IT Students or even other students out there who are
dreamers strive hard for your dreams and someday I’ll assure you, you will
become successful person in your profession someday like Steve Jobs and Bill
Gates.
